Email June 2021, John
Carr, Age 74yrs, Southend, Essex, England.
I have been looking
through old photos of my family and have one
of my dad, same name as me, in the 1st. Rutherglen
Boys Brigade in the 1920s, probably
the late 20s. it is taken n front of the
Evangelistic Insitute. I wonder if it would of
interest to include on your boys Brigade
webpages.
Webmaister: what a find a
fantastic old photo of the 1st Rutherglen
Boys Brigade. Your Dad front row No.4

The Boys Brigade company
photo was taken outside the Evangelistic
Institute.
The Rutherglen
Evangelistic Institute, opened in
January 1885, in Greenbank Street.
It was also known as
"Rodger’s Institute". Mr. Daniel Lusk
Rodger was the founder of Rutherglen
Evangelical Institute and was the brother of
town provost Adam Keir Rodger.
