"I wonder if anyone
recognises themselves in this photo taken in Church House, Boden St.
around 1948. I think it was at a concert. Please get in touch if you do. I am not in
the picture but my wee brother is sitting in the front row right ,in a kilt.
I
spend hours on this website. I think it is great!"

Local Bridgeton girls having
a sing-song around the

Armstrong,
who also played the church organ

The boys are giving it laldy too.

Feb. 2016 Ian MacKenzie-Cardy, Age 63, Javea, Spain.
I left Glasgow at the age of twelve and moved to London.I am proud of
my roots and deliberately kept my accent at school and at work as a
para medic and a police officer.( I did of course modify it a little so
I could be understood ).
My wife is of Scottish/English and Indian
origin, her first visit to Scotland was for our honeymoon in 1979....she
loved the country, our unique city and the people . If we were not both
athritic old farts we would have retired to Scotland. However we have to
settle for Spain....but we are active members of the Javea Caledonians.
The pictures of Church House in Boden street showing a line up of a
concert party has a kilted man sitting in the front row (left to right)
No 7 is my uncle ( now deceased) Tommy Cardy ) there are also two
pictures of Queen Mary street school wich show my older sister Rita and
my younger sister Morag...a great site.
