These photos were taken on Sat.7th Feb when Celtic were playing at Parkhead,
hence the number of cars in the street.

The church which stood in the Gallowgate has been demolished and the services are now conducted in the church hall in David Street junction of the Gallowgate. This is the old church hall the Boys' Brigade met in.         (photos taken7 Feb.2009)

 

 

Looking up David Street to the Gallowgate, in the background you can see the Whitevale Street high rise flats.
There is a lot of new housing building work going in David Street on both sides                     (photo taken 8 Feb.2009)

Hi Webmaister, on looking through your pics of old churches, i noticed that in st thomas in the gallowgate you have info that the flats in the background are whitevale flats These flats were erected in may 1969. and i was the first newborn up those flats in july 69.

At the other end of David Street is St.Annes school
