Here is my eldest sister, Margaret (Peggy) Dow after her wedding to
Andy Brown in
The Windsor at Bridgeton Cross, Feb 1947.
Their best man was Charlie Brown (whose son became a professional boxer)
and their best maid was Annie Sloan. They met in Barrowland, whilst Andy
was in The Royal Navy. Theirs was real lover affair, and they were a
totally devoted couple for 55 years - until Andy's death in 2002. Peggy
followed him 2 and a half years later.
