"Big Peter Ferguson when he worked at Glasgow Zoo.."

Peter had the famous 'Peter's Carpets' in the Barras.

Cambuslang man Jack Phillips wi' his dug

Jack Phillips was a six footer and was called "Big Jack" locally.  The Guide dog was called Volley ( after a Volleyball team who donated him to the Guide dog centre ) and he was Jack's first guide dog, he got him circa 1970.  He worked the dog until he was 12 years old, a long working life for a guide dog. Thereafter Jack's son Peter Phillips took him as a family pet until he died 4 years later.

The bus station is probably Killermont Street now called Buchanan Street Bus Station, as Jack and his wife Agnes were regular visitors to Glasgow by bus.  He was often asked by Glesca weans " is that a Blind dug Mister "
and he would  reply  " I hope no' son or were baith in trouble
