Mill girls from the 1920's from a Mill in John Street (renamed Tullis St ) Bridgeton  

Extract from E-mail April 2003, Jim Turnbull, East Kilbride. Scotland (41-50)

"I was visiting my old uncle last night (he’s now 91) and he gave me some photos of the family to scan. One you might be interested in. It’s a group of Mill girls from a mill in John Street, now Tullis Street taken in the late 1920s.My aunt Agnes is in it .She’s the 6th from the left in the second row."

These two girls are sisters and lived at 122 Main Street then 21 Rumford Street. They worked as power loom weavers in the early years of the history of Templeton's Carpet Factories"
