Hi Webmaister,  the photo circa 1956 of Quarry Brae Primary, the teacher in the back row far left is
Mr. Johnstone, he was the head Teacher. During my time there. Jack.

Mar.2013, Bob Winning, North Lanarkshire.
On the GlescaPals site there is a photo of Quarrybrae School 1956,  Is there any chance of a copy of this?  My late brother Malcolm is in the photo, he's the one fourth from left in front row. Cheers, Bob Winning

May.2021, Stephen Gourlay, Age 74, South Carolina, USA
I am #10 next to Ms Holburn. Neil Fotheringham is #7 top row.
Joyce ? #6 on 3rd row, (Was also a great scholar), Carol ? #4 on 3rd row ( Top scholar in the class)
Samual Waddell is #2, on 2nd row.
John Glass is #2,on front row.
It was between the three of us for top scholar. Then I was in hospital for 9 months. When I came back I couldn't keep up, I had lost too much. Ms Holburn offered my mother, to take me on summer vacation and work with me over the summer.  But my mother declined and the next year I was left back

Webmaister: what an interesting post imagine a teacher offering to take you on holiday to help with your education, lovely teacher.
