Brigton's fabulous and famous 'umbrella'
in all its glory on a fine April's day 2006 Bridgeton Cross's best known landmark is its
50ft high cast iron Umbrella, complete with clock tower, originally

Bridgeton Cross early in its history used to be a Toll point
and to
this day we locals still refer to it as "the Toll"
