Streets of Glesga ...........London Road .........at Kerr Street

'The Crimson Star' bar in Bridgeton at London Road junction of Kerr Street.
This was known as 'The Regent' for many years before changing name to the 'Lord of the Isles'
Lovely tenement building still looking good.
( see The Crimson Star website )

.

The flags on display outside the pub should tell everyone this is a 'bluenose' pub.
Many pubs in Bridgeton now display their colours in this way whilst further west and north in
the Gallowgate area the pubs fly the Irish tricolour such is the great divide in this city of ours.

.

Tam Bain played the flute with the Billy Boys band in the 1930's this photo
was taken two weeks before his 88th birthday.
