In
the late sixties early seventies all the tenements around us in Bridgeton were being
demolished, a sad time as all our friendships were destroyed as pals and
neighbours were rehoused and moved to new housing in outlying places like
Castlemilk, Sandyhills, Govan, we moved from Fairbairn St. to Auchenshuggle.
My
Da lived there till his death in January 2009.

Braidfauld Street,
Auchenshuggle ( used to be the No.64 bus terminus ) our first
house was two up right No.215
A three bedroom house with an inside toilet and our first house with a
bath!

My parents later moved to No.223 along the road, a smaller house with
two bedrooms.
