Photographs & memories of the famous RANGERS FC

Generation of football enthusiasts honed their skills on Bridgeton's "Glasgow Green" and indeed it  was the first home of Rangers FC and to this day 'Brigton' and Rangers have a certain special relationship.

Hullo Hullo

Rangers were formed in 1873, and are the first club in the world to win more than 50 league titles.
Rangers are the most-honoured football club in the world, having won 107 trophies in total...as at April 2007
[ European Cup-winners cup (1) + Scottish league (51) + Scottish Cup (31) + Scot League Cup (24) ]

The club used a variety of grounds in Glasgow as a venue for home matches in the years between 1872 & 1899.
The first was Flesher's Haugh, situated on Bridgeton's Glasgow Green

Bill Struth, arrived at Ibrox in 1914, and served the club as Trainer, Manager and Director for 42 years.
His 34-year reign as Manager from 1920-54 is a club record that will surely never be equalled.

"Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers."  Bill Struth, Manager.
