Allan J. Pinkerton was a
Scottish American detective and spy, best known for creating the
Pinkerton National Detective Agency.
Allan Pinkerton was born in
Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland, to William Pinkerton and his wife, Isobel
McQueen, on August 25, 1819.
