Glasgow
Battalion show ARENA 83, KELVIN HALL
The Boy's Brigade Centenary 1883 - 1983
|
The first ever BB band in 1886 was a BB Flute
band. The Glasgow Battalion of the
Boys Brigade
decided to celebrate our centenary with a grand
show in Glasgow's famous Kelvin
Hall.
BB officers, members and friends from all over the
world converged in Glasgow
and we were honoured as a company to be asked to
take part in the show.
The sketch was the first BB band suitably
dressed marching into the arena with
the flutes and drums playing 'Onward Christian
soldiers' followed by an old
Glasgow tram and marching boys carrying wooden
rifles, as they did in those days. |
